Then they release Storm Island and that's not included. I guess I don't know for sure on this because I bought the Car Pass when it was on sale well after the car pass had been finished up.įorza Horizon 2 on the other hand has a Car pass, but in this case it didn't include all of the car packs that came out. In the case of Forza 5 I didn't really have issues because the Car Pass (I believe) covered everything that was released for the game (except VIP). However, I start to draw the line on DLC when it starts feeling deceiving. I feel just like you, this is yet another attempt by Turn10 and Playground Games to milk Forza Horizon 2 for more money. I haven't bought Storm Island yet and I likely won't until there's good reason to, or there's a sale that also combines with VIP. All you're going to get is resistance from people who think you're dumb because you have an opinion different than their own. I tried this previously with Storm Island and the Car Pack and all that. I don't particularly like the way T10 handles Forza DLCs and I absolutely hate season passes but I love racing games and they kinda have the only game in town right now this generation.ĭude, you're fighting an uphill battle. If people don't like it then it's as easy as not buying the content. More importantly it's to make money for Microsoft. Just remember one thing, T10s first priority is to make money. That said I completely agree with you in that this is nothing more than a cash grab for FH2, especially if there is already a planned Porsche DLC for FH6 and we are essentially Beta Testing assets for them while giving them money at the same time. There's a million ways to do a licensing agreement but what I described is what I'm familiar with for the company I work for. On top of that it's likely the negotiated % would be off units sold, not dollar amounts so a year after Forza 6 is released and being sold for half price EA would still be getting their original cut. Also keep in mind that EA would be taking money from something where they only participate in 1% of the content where as if it's a DLC they would be taking money because they would have the majority investment. So right there EA would be getting a % of $60 vs a % of DLC pricing. EA likely is taking a % cut based off units sold rather than a lump payout. That saidT10 would likely owe EA more money if they ship FM6 with Porsche vs. First off let me put the disclaimer that what I'm saying is pure speculation. I didn't say it wouldn't cut into their profits for FM6. The views of the moderation team do not reflect the view of Microsoft or its subsidiaries.
